On the other bank of the Dahme is the Wendenheim boathouse. Until 1933, this was the headquarters of the Reichsbanner Schwarz Rot Gold, a political organization from the socialist party that was formed to protect the Weimar Republic against right-wing radical and communist attacks. After the Nazis came to power , the house was occupied by the SA, the fascist paramilitary stormtroopers. It alsobecame the scene of Köpenicker Blutwoche, an event that symbolized the cruel and violent excess of the early Nazi dictatorship.
This station includes a contribution by Agathe Conradi, director of the Treptow Köpenick Museum and the Köpenicker Blutwoche Memorial.
